This beauty was looking down on us as we buried my aunt in Metiare Cemetary, New Orleans, La.

Old San Juan If you only knew what I had to do to take some of these pictures! There were poles and wires and people on ledges looking down.........she was especially hard to get without distractions!

Old San Juan Keep your eye on her as she is a Lady of many different moods!

Now begins the journey in Old San Juan Cemetery. I was told by many locals and police NOT to go as it sits directly across from a drug infested slum. That kept me away for a day! I called on MY Angel and the next day it just so happened that a very famous singer was being buried. It was swarming with police and TV. I had 20 minutes before the huge crowd marched down the tunnel. I think the pressure kept me very focused as I went from one incredible piece to another. It wasn't until I developed the film that I really got to appreciate what I saw!

New Orleans 4 months after Katrina : Life has not moved on for people in New Orleans. I still call it home...even if I do live in Houston! I feel a need to keep the tragedy close by less we forget too soon. Most of these photo's are taken at the epicenter of the worst flood damage, the 9th Ward. The sad sad part is that I took these photos FOUR MONTHS after Hurricane Katrina. Worse then that, the city had called off searching the homes a month before and relatives were and STILL are finding bodies. Nothing could have prepared me for what I saw, nor will I ever forget the stench. My heart goes out to all who lost everything and some how have to move on.

Angels : My deep appreciation for sculptured angels began in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico a few years ago. The Old cemetery has some of the most exquisite works of art I've layed eyes on! New Orleans allows me the same excitement as I spied some beauties.
